beach photography - surfing and sunset

Professional holiday property photography makes your holiday let stand out from those with inferior quality photography. 1 The Mallows is a fabulous holiday home on the North Cornwall Coast. It’s in Widemouth Bay just outside Bude. Widemouth Bay is a mecca for surfers and faces due west so it has amazing sunsets in the right weather conditions, as you can see from the photos. 1 The Mallows sleeps ten and is a big, spacious bungalow with annex so there’s plenty of room for everyone.

We’ve been doing holiday property photography since 2014 when we became the main photographers for Menai Holidays in North Wales for three seasons. By that point there were so many properties to photograph that it made sense for them to actually employ a photographer. Since then we have been photographing holiday properties for private owners and families who let their properties direct, rather than through an agent.

When we photograph a holiday home our objective is this:

To give potential holiday renters a taste of what it be like to stay there. Not just just the rooms look like but what it would actually feel like. It’s not just about the facilities offered, it’s about the emotional connection with the holiday home and helping people picture in their minds what it would be like to stay there.

This means the little details are all important. Whilst the room shots are necessary to give an idea of size, layout and style people want to feel what it would be like to stay there. What would the experience be like. So the decor, ornaments, accessories and local places of interest are integral to the marketing of your holiday home.

As you’ll see from the photographs, one of the attractions of 1 The Mallows is the beach and the surfing. And the sunsets of course.

Owner feedback

Owner Sharon Charteress commented on the business benefits of investing in professional holiday property photography, ‘We purchased our Cornish holiday let in Spring 2014. It is advertised on three of the main booking sites. Initially we started with six weeks of bookings in year one and on average we received 10 weeks of bookings by the end of year five. Having had professional photographs taken at the end of the season in year five, we saw a 30% increase in bookings for year six. These included those hard to fill, out of season weeks and short breaks.

Going forward we plan to regularly update the images so we can showcase what the property has to offer all year round. The return for such a minimal investment has exceeding all of our expectations.

We cover the whole of the UK from our base in Cheshire, Northwest England. As this can involve a lot of travel from our base to your property we take on all commissions on a quoted price basis. Factors include the number of rooms in the property, including the number of beds which always need to be remade before they are photographed. Propping is also a very important consideration because this makes so much difference to the atmosphere. Props include wine, food ingredients, flowers, magazines etc. We provide itemised costings for props with our quotations. You can see more examples of our holiday property photography in this gallery.
